When you buy a mobile tent sauna, you certainly want it to provide you with a comfortable rest for a long period of time. This is especially true for fairly expensive models. But in order for the tent to serve you for a really long time, you need to make very little effort to properly care for it. In this article, we will tell you how to care for MORZH tents.
Tent care when setting up
Find a suitable place to put your tent. It should be a flat surface. Remove the trash, pine cones, twigs, stones that could punch a hole in the tent. Try not to move your tent after you set it up.
Treat carefully the frame elements. When assembling, the frame is usually placed on the ground, and there is a risk of accidentally stepping on it.
Take care of the tent awning, do not allow excessive tension with guy ropes. Open and close the zippers delicately, so they will last much longer.
During use
When using a mobile sauna, all safety precautions must be followed. They are indicated in the technical certificate that is sent with the tent.
The most important thing is to make sure that you have firmly set up the tent itself and the stove in it. To avoid burning, the stove must be at a safe distance. Remember to remove or secure the chimney valve to prevent it from being burned out by the hot pipe.
Another important detail is that when using the tent in winter, be sure to clean the snow from the roof, otherwise there is a risk that the frame will bend under the weight of the snowdrift.
As for using the sauna in hot weather, if you leave the tent in the sun for a long time, be prepared for the color to fade over time.
In rainy weather, it is best to use a waterproof cape. Because of the technological features of the three-layer material, the seams of the tent cannot be glued in some places. There are microscopic holes from the needle. The tent can be vulnerable in very heavy rainfall.
How to clean and dry your tent
Shake out sand, fine dust, etc. after every use.
Never wash your tent in the washing machine. It may tear fabric, mesh or seams.
To clean the tent, use a sponge, piece of cloth, and soapy water. Gently rub the dirty areas.
Avoid using harsh cleaning agents such as bleach, stain remover. Most of these products have a bad effect on the water-repellent properties of the awning.
Do not iron your tent and do not keep it in a dryer. Let the awning dry on its own.
How to store the tent
The first thing to do is to get it out of the carrying bag, shake out all the sand, branches and debris. If soiled, wash and dry thoroughly.
If there are any breaks, repair it. Try not to fold the tent in the same folds, this will prolong the life of the fabric's water-repellent coating.
Check all equipment, frame, pegs, awning. Place in special storage bags.
Make sure the area where it will be stored is dry and well ventilated.
How to fix a damage
One of the unpleasant things that can happen with a tent is a tent tear, especially if it happened on a hike.
In this case, there are 2 options: send the tent to the workshop or fix it yourself.
Repair with glue and patch
You need a glue for textiles and a synthetic fabric patch.
Repair procedure:
- Clean the damaged area from dirt, degrease it.
- Prepare a patch 2-5 cm larger than the damage itself.
- Sew the break with tight threads.
- Lay out the awning on a flat surface.
- Apply a layer of glue to the damage and the patch itself.
- Straighten fabric folds and press the patch firmly.
- If glue comes out at the edges, remove it.
- Put a press on the patch and leave for a day.
